We approach your hair in a way that will have minimal impact on the integrity of your hair by the techniques, colours and styling products we use.

Our goal is to give you the best looking low maintenance colour and style that you can love recreating at home.

This minimalism flows through our salon environment, giving you a chill space for you to relax full of plant life. Enjoy sipping from our Nz sourced tea menu while we tame your hair using eco friendly practices and products.

All our products are local or Australian made or owned as well as being eco and cruelty free. we use no harsh chemicals in our colours and no ammonia where possible right through to products used on your hair and scalp.

If you need to work you can jump on the WiFi or if you want some screen free time then you can cozy up on the couch and flick through the mags, get inspired by our local cookbooks or test your skills with one of the puzzle books.

  • Whitney Steven

    Owner + Colourist

    Whitney has been in the hair industry for around 20years.

    She has a passion for colour and decided 6 years into her career to focus soley that area and become a colour specialist.

    Focusing on one area of hairdressing has allowed her to continuously educate and finnese her craft. She loves to create lived in low maintenance colours, dimensional blondes and rich brunettes.

    Whitney is a busy mother of two, the co owner of Hiem and also the sister brand Kindred Haircare. Relatable and down to earth she will make you feel right at home.

  • Kurtis Counsell

    Owner, Stylist + Colourist

    Kurt has worked in the industry for 19 years and is passionate about natural hair.

    In this time working on his craft to specialise in low maintenance cutting techniques and is widely known for his blow drys.

    Spending many years as a colour specialist he has a strong following of blondes.

    Kurt is down to earth and a gentle soul but isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. If it won’t work or simply won’t suit; count on Kurt for the honesty… Also loves dogs.

    Hair health is one of his core staples and as a trained holistic nutritionist he likes to share tips on internal health for hair support.

    Stylist + Colourist

    Hannah is widely known for her lived in blondes and is not one to shy away from a warm tonal palette. An absolute pro in the industry with a wealth of knowledge in her tool kit.

    She has a huge following for the bespoke way she approaches hair from the way she colours, snips and styles, she is big on building relationships.

    Loves a good laugh and isn’t afraid to be the class clown she often has us all laughing and is sure to pick up your spirits
